In November 2006, I was able to go our for a day to see the Pakistan Team row out of the Karachi Boat Club in preparation for the Asian Games in Doha. In the evening I got to see Kiran and Sama row. They were coached by Linda in the summer for the Junior Asian Games. All of this was arranged by Arif Ikram, the genius behind the revival of rowing at KBC. It was wonderful to see the hustle and bustle at the club as boys and girls got on the water. KBC has an impressive set of new shells and oars, and is hosting an international regatta in December.
