Your Bio

Rowing and Aircraft are my passions so you will see that in a lot of my photographs. The credit for these pictures go to my wife as much as me since we are always finding shots together. I grew up in Pakistan, a beautiful land with beautiful people that you will glimpse in these pages as well. I am also a rower and a coach, so you will see a lot of photographs on the water related to crew. Please feel free to write comments, critical or not, they are all welcome. Youth Regatta : They call it the most laid back regatta in the US. No stake boats, no bouy lines. Aisha started the day with a race in her Junior B single event in which she qualified. Then the girls had to hustle for the double. The start line is 3 miles away and by the time they got there, they were too tuckered and the double race was a poor showing. Then Kiran rowed a good race in her single and missed a medal by a few lengths. Her technique is much better. Aisha was pretty tired by now but tried her best. She certainly scared off another girl who had made finals but chose not to race in the massive head wind and choppy waters. The last race was the eight where Aisha and Kiran wore the blue and white unisuits for Fairmount. None of them had rowed together before so it was mostly for fun...which they certainly had.

Week 4 : Aisha's Dad came to the US for business and go to see some of the rowing on the Schuylkill. We also went out for a picnic at the ranch where Anisa and Sabir were riding. Kiran and Aisha had to row the men's double since their boat was still at Cooper RIver and would not return until the trailer came back. This Fillipi is sized for 190 lb guys so the girls were sitting a little higher out of the water, but set it up like a charm. WE still have to fix our catches. They are too slow and skying makes us miss so much water. The last practice the girls were tols to back the oars in and have a couple of inches of water in the boat or they would have failed in their quest. It worked. Kiran also got to attend the College fair and meet with coaches from almost 60 colleges from around the country at Nationals.

CERN and Geneva : The chunnel was easy. You just drive on and 45 minutes later you are in France. How cool is that? I did want to see the ferry and the white cliffs of Dover but we decided to delay that for the return trip since we were not quite sure of Anisa's stomach state. Paris was amazing. We went to see the Army museum and Napoleon's tomb...much like a Pharoah. Linda and Jeff saw a contemprary art museum. Then we had dinner with Meredith Clayton. She is like family and was great to see her after such a long time. She looked beautiful and happy and we got to meet her boyfriend. The next day we went to see the Eiffel Tower and then it was time to drive on to CERN.
